This ultra chic pad located in San Francisco’s Dolores Park was a recent project completed by Craig Steely Architecture. Dubbed ‘Peter’s House,’ the small (only 1800 square feet) property is located on a site bordering a public garden. Keeping privacy high on the priority list, the biggest challenge in designing Peter’s House was opening the building to the expansive view while maintaining a level of privacy from the sidewalk and public garden. The architect was able to solve this problem by using 90 solid wood louvers that are fixed on the exterior to help regulate privacy and openness. Cool news: the wood louvers are constructed with Monterey Cypress trees that were torn down to help clear the way for a new on-ramp to the Golden Gate Bridge. Check out the images of Peter’s House below, and as always, be sure to let us know what you think in the comment section!
