Located in Northern México‘s El Jonuco region, the Narigua House by David Pedroza Castañeda is a one of a kind single family home enclosed by mountains. Built on a site that is densely populated by local vegetation, the natural landscape posed a serious design challenge for the architects. In efforts to respect the existing ecosystem, the house was lifted above the surrounding cedar trees that block the incredible views. Divided into three different volumes, the home features a number of “recyclable” chambers on the lower level that can be transformed into guest bedrooms. Inspired by traditional Mexican architecture, the house was built with flat roofs and timber beams that give the property a rustic timeless appearance.
Inside the house, the use of floor to ceiling glass walls makes the exterior views apart of everyday life. Check out the Narigua House below:
